This quest is a family adventure game at home: ready–made cards with tasks that the organizer hides in the caches around the house in advance according to the instructions. The quest conducts itself – participants look for clues, complete tasks, and in the end find pre-hidden gifts. The game can be arranged at a birthday party, on New Year's Eve, for an evening with friends or just like that.

The legend behind the quest

The ancient Chinese emperor came up with an astrological calendar in which each year has a patron and a symbol in the form of an animal. Quest participants need to find and collect all 12 animals by solving tasks on cards and moving from one hiding place with a card to another, cutting out an animal from each card. And at the end of the quest, they assemble a puzzle with those animals to find out where the gifts are hidden.

What is included in the set

The set of printed quest tasks includes 14 cards with tasks on 8 A4 pages. You can print them on a black-and-white or color printer. We have attached detailed instructions to the cards on how to prepare the quest – it will take you about 20-30 minutes. And we drew an envelope template – if you wish, the cards can be hidden in envelopes. During the game, participants will only need a phone to scan QR codes, a pen and scissors to cut animals from cards.

Where to organise the quest and who can participate

You can organize it in an apartment, a country house or at a party (perhaps you will have to adapt a couple of hiding places). Tasks are different in complexity: ciphers, puzzles, riddles, questions with video and audio tracks. Children will cope with most of the tasks, but adults and teenagers will also be interested: they are modern and contain no boring crosswords or puzzles. There are quite a lot of tasks, so we did not make them very difficult.

It is best to play with a company of up to 8 people, so that there is no jostling around the tasks and everyone participates. But it will also be interesting for one person to solve puzzles and perform active tasks in order to find their gift.

The tasks in the quest

To play two pieces of music and one video from the tasks in the cards, you will need to activate QR codes using your phone camera or a special app.

Organization of the quest by steps

1. Read the instructions carefully.
2. Print out the tasks – 8 A4 pages (the cards will need to be cut). If desired, print and fold the envelopes for the cards (this is not necessary).
3. You will need a phone with internet to scan three QR codes. If you don't have Internet during the quest, you can download audio and video tracks to your phone or computer in advance and turn it on as you progress through the quest.
4. Arrange the clue cards along the chain into hiding places and securely hide gifts or sweets under the bed (under the sofa, if there is no bed).
5. Give the participants the first card in their hands, or leave it in a prominent place – the quest has begun! He "conducts himself", your participation will not be needed anymore.

The final cache with gifts is encrypted with the phrase "The secret is kept under the sleeping bed" – under the bed (or sofa, if you sleep on it).
